Went to see Tool last night and it was also my first arena show. I've gone to tons of club shows so the arena was strange. I sooo wasnt used to air conditioning, being comfortable, or having a seat, haha! Didnt sweat once! Very strange. I'm unsure how I feel about arena shows. I enjoy being able to be right up front if I wanted to. I also like to see fingers hitting frets, pedal switches, cymbal catches, boogers, teeth, general stage setup, etc. Wasnt close enough to see any of this which had me sorta lost.
I'm not a huge Tool fan. Only like about a handful of songs and perfer A Perfect Circle over them, but the show was still cool. They had an amazing light show! I'd turn around just to see what the light crew was doing from time to time. The opening band, Wovenhand, was amazing too. I was trying to see if they had a merch table but all I found were about a dozen Tool merch tables. Before leaving the show I saw a small section at the end of a Tool table, but didnt feel like fighting the crowd for a 15 dollar Wovenhand CD, haha!
